All you have to do is select the title and edit its text to get a slick effect. But you can do a lot more to change the appearance of the text, from quickly applying different fonts and colors to tweaking the typography.

**** How Steve Jobs Blew The iPad Launch By Snubbing Macworld <http://www.cultofmac.com/how-steve-jobs-blew-the-ipad-launch-by-snubbing-macworld/29709?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+cultofmac%2FbFow+%28Cult+of+Mac%29>
Leander Kahney, Cult of Mac

Steve Jobs blew the iPad launch by not doing it at Macworld. There’s not the same buzz about the iPad as there was about the iPhone, and that’s because it wasn’t introduced to 4,000 fans at a keynote. And it won’t be on the show floor for fans to check out (even in a glass case).

You think that if Apple asks IDG to put a few glass cases at Macworld Expo for free, IDG will not agree?

**** Grandfather's Love, In A Sandwich <http://food.theatlantic.com/stories/grandfathers-love-in-a-sandwich.php>
Ian Knauer, The Atlantic

My grandfather, like most men of his day, never cooked. He never even set foot in the kitchen. So it was to my great surprise when he called me from the lawn with a brisk wave of his arm. He'd made a sandwich for my lunch: an act that to this day, if only due to its rarity, still symbolizes his love for me.

Teo Xuanwei, Today

This much is clear: The food poisoning outbreak last April which killed two women and caused 152 others to fall ill was caused by bacteria-contaminated food from Mr Sheik Allaudin Mohideen's stall. What will remain unresolved, however - because of a lack of evidence - is how the contamination happened at the Indian rojak stall at the Geylang Serai Temporary Market, a coroner's court found yesterday.

**** Not Your Ordinary Chit-Chat Session <http://theonlinecitizen.com/2010/02/not-your-ordinary-chit-chat-session/>
Terence Lee, The Online Citizen

But whatever the reason, by resorting to blanket laws as a means of control, the government is sending the unfortunate message that it does not trust community moderation as a means of conflict resolution. These laws, although unlimited in scope, also opens up the opportunity for hate groups to exploit it to their advantage.

Teo Chia Leen, Channel NewsAsia

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) summoned the Romanian Ambassador to Singapore Aurelian Neagu, who is based in Tokyo, to the Republic on Thursday regarding the hit-and-run accidents involving the embassy's vehicle.

The MFA also referred to Dr Ionescu's interview by a Romanian television station in which he alleged that this was a case of a "set-up" by the Singapore government because he had been reporting on political activities in Singapore. The MFA told Ambassador Neagu that if these media reports had accurately quoted Dr Ionescu, then he had made very serious allegations against the integrity of the Singapore government which MFA categorically rejected as lacking any basis in fact.

**** UBS Stake May Be Worth 70 Percent Less As GIC Converts <http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/02/11/AR2010021101114.html>
Saeed Azhar, Reuters

Singapore sovereign wealth fund GIC will convert 11 billion Swiss francs ($10.33 billion) worth of UBS notes into shares next month at a price that may erode the value of its stake in the Swiss bank by 70 percent.

The potential loss is likely to draw fire from Singaporeans, who have been highly critical of sister wealth fund Temasek after it lost heavily betting on Western banks such as Bank of America-Merrill Lynch and Barclays.
