This week, let's continue ton the theme of books that my 5-year-old daughter loves. The Sound of Colors: A Journey of the Imagination <http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0316939927?ie=UTF8&tag=myapplemenu&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=0316939927><img src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=myapplemenu&l=as2&o=1&a=0316939927" width="1" height="1" border="0" alt="" style="border:none !important; margin:0px !important;" /> by Jimmy Liao that can be appreciated by both children and adults alike. However, the breath and depth of this book is so wide that it is hard to really fully appreciate everything that is being offered here.
We explore the imagination from within a recent-blinded girl through beautiful words /and/ pictures. My daughter is curious about all the imagery and possibilities presented in the book.
School Library Journal <Readers> will rejoice in <the girl's> independence and imagination, considering what is real and what is possible. Liao's watercolor illustrations invite readers to take time, slow down, and pore over the details.
I will recommend this book even if you don't have a child to read this story with.

For two days from tomorrow, many will focus attention on Langkawi, a legendary scenic isle in the north of the peninsula, where an informal meeting between prime minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and his Singapore counterpart Lee Hsien Loong will take place.
Despite the "no specific agenda" and with Abdullah saying: "I'll go for the meeting with an open mind", many are hoping this "get-together" will pave the way for more talks, be they "informal or formal", to seek solutions to outstanding bilateral issues between the two neighbours.
