Melissa Anelli, Staten Island Advance
Walk by the Staten Island Mall's Apple Store on any given night, and the scene is similar: inside are just as many young teens mugging for the digital cameras as hip elders learning how to edit their own movies and cut their own podcasts. It's a place where computer geeks and the tech-savvy download, surf and shop in harmony.

John Gruber, Daring Fireball
The explanation that makes sense is the obvious one: that Mac OS X really is more secure and better designed. Not that it's totally secure. Not that it's perfectly designed. Not that it is utterly impervious to attack because it's protected by magic leprechauns. Just that it's better.
*** Content Is King Lesson Lost On Microsoft And Zune

Stan Beer, ITWire
Some might ask the question: if Apple can do it with iPod and iTunes, why can't Microsoft do it with Zune and Zune Marketplace? The answer to that is obvious. Apple were first!

As a new breed of aspiring press moguls talk of buying big city dailies, there's more than just an industry at stake.
*** Art Of The Feud

Rachel Donadio, New York Times
At their best, literary feuds show something at stake beyond personal vanity. At their worst, feuders can become like so many gorillas, pounding on their chests and marking their territory in the literary jungle.

Straits Times wrote an article <http://straitstimes.asiaone.com/portal/site/STI/menuitem.c2aef3d65baca16abb31f610a06310a0/?vgnextoid=6fadbe120b93a010VgnVCM1000000a35010aRCRD&vgnextfmt=vgnartid:f9710b615a00f010VgnVCM100000430a0a0aRCRD> about why SingTel's entry into the pay television market is an "uphill battle."
Of course, nowhere in the entire article was it disclosed that SPH, the publisher of Straits Times, is one of the top twenty shareholders of StarHub <http://www.listedcompany.com/ir/starhub/images/shareholdings.gif>, SingTel's major competitor in pay TV market. SPH also owns a major chunk <http://www.sph.com.sg/news/latest/press_061110_001.html> of the television operation business in MediaCorp at least since the "merger", which is also entering the pay TV market with its MobTV initiative.
Why does Straits Times think that it has any real sense of credibility?
