Apple may hire you to work for them. They may buy your code if they want it. But they will not pay you off just for an idea, nor should they be expected to.

*** Gentlemen, Start Your Photocopiers
<http://www.myapplemenu.com/2004/07/01/#20040701bg000001>
by Heng-Cheong Leong
As things get clearer<http://weblogs.mozillazine.org/hyatt/archives/2004_06.html#005887>, it seems that Apple's Dashboard is copied from Microsoft's Active Desktop<http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/previous/gallery/default.mspx>. Active Desktop something Microsoft "innovated" from the days of the great Browser War I. That makes more sense.

No matter how hard I try, I fail to see how Dashboard has evolved from the idea of Desktop Accessories.
